.Here are the Mobile Suits that shaped the events of 0079, the RGM-79A was an early GM prototype. It was designed for land use, and originally didn't sport the Beam Saber favored by the Gundam. The Zaku II was the standard ground unit of the Zeon occupation forces. The Gundam is the prototype that helped win the war, it was based on the Zaku, and was the basis of all the GM mobile suits that came later. The Gundam was the first Mobile Suit to use portable Beam weapons.
