. Sgt. John North was a career tanker before the war, but early on in the Zeon conflict, John's tank succeded in destroying an enemy Zaku on patrol, and John decided to join the MS corps. Initially assigned to the 07th team's one RGM-79(G) type, Sgt. North is the team's heavy gun, his unit carries a 180mm cannon, and North has used it to take some extraordinarily long shots one of which killed an enemy Zaku 3 kilometers away. Under orders from his Lt. to get closer to the fighting, and support his teammates, John eventually lost the RGM-79(G) to enemy fire, but was essential in recovering an RX-79(G) from enemy territory.
